International Workshop on Corporate Finance and Innovation

On September 27, 2019, co-organized by Zhejiang University-the University of Sydney Seed Program and ZJU Capital Market Research Center, the International Workshop on Corporate Finance and Innovation will be held at the School of Management, Zhejiang University. Scholars from China and abroad will present eight academic papers at the workshop.

报告人/讨论人简介:

 

Tao CHEN 陈涛

Dr. Chen joined Nanyang Business School as an Assistant Professor in Finance in 2014. His research interest focuses on how financial markets participants impact corporate policies, which broadly includes corporate finance and corporate governance, mergers and acquisitions, tax avoidance, and banking and financial institutions. He has published papers in numerous leading academic journals. His papers have been presented at major finance conferences and covered by Financial Times and VoxEU. He has received numerous awards, including CUHK Young Scholars Award, NBS Teaching Excellence Award, Outstanding Paper Award in Annual Conference on Asia-Pacific Financial Markets, and Best Paper Award in Asian Finance Association Annual Meeting.

 

Ying Sophie HUANG 黄英

Dr. Huang is a Professor at the Department of Finance & Accounting in the School of Management, Zhejiang University and the director of ZJU Capital Market Research Center. Dr. Huang earned her Ph.D. degree in Financial Economics from the City University of New York. Her main research interest focuses on corporate finance and governance, financial derivatives and China’s financial markets. She has published over 40 papers in numerous leading academic journals. Dr. Huang is the Associate Editor of Finance Research Letters (SSCI) and International Review of Economics & Finance (IREF).She also served as a member of the Program Committee for the Financial Management Association Annual Meeting, a guest editor and an ad-hoc referee for a number of academic journals. She is a recipient of the awards for “New Century Excellent Talents in University (NCET)” from China’s Ministry of Education and “Thousand Talents” from Zhejiang Provincial Government.

 

Lingtian KONG 孔令天

Dr. Kong is an Assistant Professor at Central University of Finance and Economics. He earned his Ph.D. degree in finance from Rotterdam School of Management, Erasmus University. His main research interest focuses on corporate finance, investment, financial intermediation, market microstructure. He has published papers in academic journals and presented at finance and economics conferences such as FBR Conference, IFABS Asia, etc. 

 

Di LI 李荻

Dr. Li is an Assistant Professor at the HSBC Business School of Peking University. He graduated from Peking University and The University of Michigan. His research focuses on corporate finance, corporate governance, mergers and acquisitions, structural estimation. He has published papers in leading journals such as Journal of Financial and Quantitative Analysis, China Economic Quarterly. He has been invited to present his research at academic conferences such as the annual meeting of the American Economic Association and Asian Finance Association.

 

Meifen QIAN 钱美芬

Dr. Qian is an Associate Professor and the Deputy Director at Finance & Accounting Department of School of Management, Zhejiang University. She earned her Ph.D. degree in Finance from National University of Australia. Her research interest focuses on corporate finance, asset pricing and mutual funds. Her teaching focuses on investment, financial management and quantitative trading. She has published papers in leading academic journals such as Journal of Banking and FinancePacific-Basin Finance JournalAustralia Journal of Management. She is also an anonymous reviewer of Emerging Markets Finance and TradeApplied Economics.

 

Buhui QIU 丘步晖

Dr. Qiu is an Associate Professor of Finance at The University of Sydney Business School. He received his Ph.D. degree in Finance from the University of Cincinnati. Before pursuing an academic career, he worked as a financial analyst and advanced financial consultant at Ford, PwC Consulting and IBM. His research interests are in the areas of corporate finance, accounting and capital markets. He has received multiple international research awards. His research papers have been presented in top economics conferences and cited by various media.

 

Carl Hsin-han SHEN 沈信汉

Dr. Shen is a Senior Lecturer at the Department of Accounting and Corporate Governance. He earned his Ph.D. degree from State University of New York at Buffalo in USA and was a faculty member at Department of Finance of National Central University in Taiwan. Dr. Shen specializes in the interaction between corporate governance mechanisms and capital market phenomena, including corporate governance, executive compensation, financial accounting and corporate innovation. He ever published in numerous leading academic journals, including Review of Finance, Journal of Business Finance & Accounting, etc.

 

Juan YAO 姚娟

Dr.Juan Yao is a Senior Lecturer at the Finance Discipline, Business School, The University of Sydney. Juan received her Masters of Commerce (by research) degree and Ph.D. from Curtin University of Technology, Western Australia. Her research interests are in the area of empirical asset pricing, funds management, foreign exchange market and business forecasting.  Juan has taught various subjects including International Business Finance, Fixed Income Securities and Corporate Finance. She is also the chief investigator for a national research project “Strategies and Approaches to Teaching and Learning Cross Cultures”, funded by the Australian Teaching and Learning Council in 2007-2009. Juan is an academic member of China Study Centre and Australia-China Business Network.

 

Bin YU 俞彬

Dr.Yu holds a PhD in Finance from Australian National University, an M.A. and a B.Sc. in Finance from the Zhejiang University. He is an Associate Professor in the School of Economics at Zhejiang University. He conducts empirical research in the fields of mutual fund, price efficiency, and technical tradings.

 

Haijian ZENG 曾海舰

Dr. Zeng is a Professor at Fiscal & Financial Department of Business School, Guangxi University. He earned his Ph.D. degree in Finance from Jinan University. His main research interests are corporate finance and financial market investment. He has published papers in leading academic journals such as Economic Research Journal, Management World, The Journal of World Economy, Journal of Financial Research and Accounting and Finance. He has also published a monograph and won many academic research awards.
